Responsible for operational studies
Gaspésie Railway (CFG) and Québec Central Railway (CFQC) are two ambitious rail infrastructure rehabilitation projects, aimed at restoring and modernizing strategic rail lines in the Gaspésie and Central Québec regions.
The Gaspésie Railway is a mixed rail line, serving both freight and passenger traffic. Due to advanced obsolescence and extensive damage caused by successive storms, the line has been out of service since 2013. In order to breathe new life into this essential infrastructure, the Ministère des Transports du Québec made a commitment in 2017 to rehabilitate the entire network, with a view to relaunching its operation for economic and tourism uses.
The Québec Central Railway, which linked various municipalities in Central Quebec, was heavily damaged by major flooding and has been out of service since 1994. In 2020, the Ministère des Transports du Québec launched a comprehensive network rehabilitation project to restore this strategic route.
Our Mission
Ingerop was mandated by the Ministère des Transports et de la Mobilité Durable du Québec to carry out the following assignments:
Strategic advisor
- implementation strategy,
- drafting of technical specifications,
- technical advice on engineering structures,
- cost estimates,
- steering of studies
- drafting calls for tender.
Responsible for operational studies
- Operations analysis
- Hourly graph modeling with input data
- Analysis of project situations including freight and passenger traffic
- Infrastructure modeling
- Estimation of typical freight or passenger markets
- Optimization of infra/MR/connection system
- Integration of new assumptions,
- Modeling of a stabilized timetable
- Presentation of macro results for each project situation
- Supply of timetable graphs,
- Indication of the number of train paths per day and per category
- Evaluation of freight and passenger capacities
- Identification of requirements for crossing stations, freight sidings and signalling systems.
Ingerop Canade’s work on this project also included operational and load-bearing studies to ensure that the planned siding and track equipment was suitable for the anticipated traffic and operating mode. In addition, Ingerio Canada was commissioned to propose a maintenance strategy including, among other things, inspections, work, necessary tools, intervention methods, human resources, and a high-level estimate of annual costs.
