Localisation: Barcelona - Spain
Types of services
As part of the Superilles programme, the city of Barcelona is adapting its public spaces to improve quality of life and address climate-related challenges.
The Comte Borrell–Parlament corridor is being transformed through traffic calming and renaturation, with the streets being converted into single-level platforms that prioritise active mobility.
Planting a third row of trees and reducing paved surfaces completes the adaptation strategy. Ingerop’s Spanish City and Urban Planning department, alongside its architectural partner DeSolaGori, is responsible for project management, including designing the public spaces, coordinating the infrastructure and integrating the three ecosystems — plant, social and services — to reconcile biodiversity, usage and urban performance.
