Following the floods on 6 and 8 September 2005, the City of Nîmes applied for extraordinary state aid to speed up the implementation of the flood protection plan.
The project is part of the ‘Cadereau’ flash-flood channel programme More specifically, the development work focuses on two tributaries of the Vistre:
- The Vistre de la Fontaine flash-flood channel, including the construction of the Tour de l’Évêque basin.
- The Uzès flash-flood channel, including the excavation of the Magaille basin.
