Futerro, a Belgian company that specialises in producing lactic acid, lactide and PLA, is aiming to develop the green chemistry and renewable polymers sector. To this end, it is establishing its first European biorefinery in the Port-Jérôme 2 industrial zone, which is located between Rouen and Le Havre.
The biorefinery will convert agricultural raw materials from a nearby industrial site into biodegradable plastic — a sustainable alternative to petroleum-based plastic.
Ingerop is contributing to the green reindustrialisation of France as part of a joint venture with Eiffage and Ataub by providing expertise in impact assessments, industrial facility design; and energy, transport and logistics infrastructure development, as well as supporting foreign investors in setting up in the country.
