Sizewell C

The UK is aiming for carbon neutrality by 2050 and wants to accelerate the development of nuclear power. It has therefore approved the project to replicate Hinkley Point C on the Sizewell site. This project involves the construction of two EPR-type pressurized water reactors with a total capacity of 3.2 GW.

Thanks to their expertise on the Hinkley Point C power plant, Ingérop teams have been commissioned, under a framework agreement, to carry out the civil engineering studies for four buildings on the nuclear island, intended for tanks and hot laundry utilities, hot warehouse and decontamination workshop and intermediate level waste storage.

The scope of the studies is as follows:

• Global calculations (soil-structure interaction, finite element modeling, reinforcement maps),
• Local calculations (reinforcement sketches and detailing briefing packs),
• Production of 3D models (general arrangement and reinforcement).
