Val’Tram extends Aubagne’s tramway line T by over 14 km to La Bouilladisse, creating a new public transport link across the Huveaune valley and serving five municipalities: La Bouilladisse, La Destrousse, Auriol, Roquevaire and Aubagne. Designed to offer an efficient alternative to road travel in a heavily congested area, the project is set to improve local connectivity while strengthening links with Aubagne and the wider metropolitan network.

A key feature of the scheme is the reuse of the former Valdonne railway corridor. By building on this existing alignment, the project transforms disused infrastructure into a modern tramway line while limiting land take and construction impacts. Val’Tram includes 11 new stations, the extension of the existing depot, and complementary facilities such as two park-and-ride sites and two parking areas to support modal shift.

The route is predominantly designed as a single-track line, with stations mainly configured in double track to allow tram crossings and ensure smooth operations. This approach adapts closely to the geography of the corridor while supporting efficient service delivery, while the depot extension supports operation and maintenance of the extended line.

Ingerop provided full engineering services for the project, with involvement in the key phases from preliminary and detailed design to tender documentation, construction supervision and handover. Val’Tram illustrates how existing rail infrastructure can be reimagined to deliver practical, efficient and more sustainable mobility for the territory.
