Founded in 2024 by Frédéric Varaine and selected for the France 2030 call for projects by the Banque Publique d’Investissement, Otrera originated from the CEA and brings together French expertise in fast neutron reactors. The company is developing a next-generation small nuclear reactor capable of producing lowcarbon electricity and heat at a competitive and optimised cost.
To support it in carrying out the preliminary design studies for its first reactor, Otrera One (200 MWth – 80 MWe), the start-up called on Ingerop.
The challenge to obtain the necessary permits first time they are applied for application is crucial. Our mission is to be a preferred partner capable of combining design excellence, regulatory rigour, agility and adherence to deadlines and cost targets.
