INGEROP WELL ON ITS WAY WITH THE MONTENEGRIN HIGHWAY
INGEROP, leader of a consortium comprising its Italian partner Geodata, was awarded in 2014 the supervision of the design and construction of 41 km of highway which will link the cities of Bar and Boljare. This will be the first phase of a highway connecting Serbia to the Adriatic Sea.

This exceptional highway project presents real technical and managerial challenges. Quality environment concerns impact the day to day works within a site of highly variable geotechnical characteristics.

Beginning of October, the Chinese Contractor (CRBC) successfully casted the first stage of a heavily reinforced 2,000 m3 footing (a first pouring 2.50 m high out of 7.50 m in total) for the Moracica Bridge. Thanks to the preparatory works and method statements finalized between the Contractor and INGEROP, the 50 hour pouring operation was successfully completed.

Dedicated quality procedures had been adopted for this key operation as the footing will eventually support a 161 meter high pier.

This one-of-a-kind project comprises several other major construction sites which are progressing simultaneously. In addition to the magnificent Moracica Bridge, INGEROP’s team is also supervising 12 work sites for tunnels and 6 open road sites. New work sites are scheduled to be opened over the next few months.

The overall project includes 17 km open route, 19 twin tube tunnels (total 19 km), 1 four lane bridge (the 1 km Moracica Bridge), 17 twin two lane bridges (total 4 km) and five single two lane bridges at interchanges.

The completion date for this Design and Build project (Yellow FIDIC Book) is scheduled in 2019.
