BEST GLOBAL PROJECT AWARD TO SYDNEY METRO NORTHWEST - SKYTRAIN
The Skytrain cable-stayed bridge is a first of a kind metro rail bridge in Australia.

Rendel’s bridges team provided professional engineering services and construction stage technical assistance on the project which comprised a 4.3 km-long, elevated, precast post-tensioned concrete segmental viaduct and an iconic first-of-a-kind, cable-stayed bridge.
The Sydney Metro Northwest - skytrain project has been awarded ‘2018 Global Best Project’ by Engineering News Records (ENR), an American-based journal, 6th Annual Global Best Projects competition.
The ENR Global Best Projects Awards identifies and honours the project teams behind outstanding design and construction efforts of the past year.  The judges picked a diverse set of 22 projects from 14 different countries which demonstrated risk, rewards and the overcoming of hurdles through design and build.  Other factors included safety performance, innovation, design and construction quality, benefit to local communities and diversity of project teams.
The award was announced at a gala awards dinner on 2nd October at the Edison Ballroom in New York City.
