ABLE MARINE ENERGY PARK - CATEGORY 3 CHECKER
Rendel, INGEROP’s UK subsidiary, has signed an agreement in 2016 with NIRAS Fraenkel to provide Category 3 checking on Able Marine Energy Park (AMEP). NIRAS Fraenkel is carrying out the detailed design of the project.

AMEP is currently one of the largest marine projects in the UK and is designed to be a bespoke port for renewable energy, in particular offshore wind turbines. It will cover 800 acres plus multi-use facilities, and will include 1,389 m of new heavy-duty, deep-water quays. The marine park located on the tidal estuary of the Humber (east coast of Northern England), will provide facilities for the manufacture, storage, assembly and deployment of the latest generation of wind turbines. It will create a ‘cluster’ for renewable energy through its proximity to the sea, as well as the large area of land to accommodate the manufacturing and storage facilities. It will enable the opportunity to provide UK-based renewable energy production with the potential for export to Europe.

This project is the latest one for Rendel on the Humber. Rendel has been a major actor in marine developments in this area since 1900.
