This significant milestone represents the first step in creating a single-track railway line of 140 km between Niamey and Dosso and will allow freight trains and passenger traffic.

This event is the first phase of a unique construction project which began on April 7th, 2014 and for which Ingerop was appointed by the Bolloré Group to undertake the design (studies related to alignment and earthworks, rail track, bridges and hydraulic structures, civil engineering) and the works supervision.

The opening of a first phase celebrated on December 18th was made possible thanks to perfect control of deadlines both for studies and construction.

Ultimately, the rail track to be connected to the African loop will enable the development of the country and of social and economic relations between the neighboring countries.
