Highways - Tema Access Roads, Ghana

Ingérop and Rendel share their strengths to secure Ghana Road Improvement Project

A consortium of Rendel and Ingérop has been appointed to provide engineering consultancy services of road improvements between Accra and Tema Port in Ghana.

The programme will provide necessary upgrades to the existing Accra-Tema N1 motorway – expanding it from four to six lanes.  Additional construction will introduce slip roads, interchanges, pedestrian overpasses over an approximate length of
19 kilometres.

In addition, improvements will be made to six kilometres of the existing Hospital Road and three kilometres of Meridian Road. To facilitate the port construction, a temporary     haulage road will also be created which will then be upgraded to an access road.

The client, Meridian Port Services (MPS), awarded the contract to carry out the FEED/preliminary design and the FIDIC contract documents for the improvement of the access roads. MPS is a joint venture between APM Terminals, Bolloré and the Ghana Port Authority.

This is the first project secured by Ingérop and Rendel in collaboration since the acquisition.  Our submission and subsequent appointment results from Ingerop’s strong relationship with the Bolloré Group backed up by Rendel’s track record in Ghana and the other English-speaking African countries.
