The project comprises a total floor area of 85.400 m², of which 26.500 m² in superstructure and 58.900 m² in infrastructure including a parking area for 550 spaces. The project required 34.400 m3 of concrete, 12.200m² of masonry and 3.200m of structural steel.

The structure of the museum consists of two plateaus and mezzanines with a width of about 40m and a length of 250m, on metal "piles". The stability of the two blocks of the museum is provided by the concrete cores disposed at each end and central metallic pillars. A central expansion joint of 20 cm ensures maximum unrestricted movement in the event of a disaster. The roof of the museum, where the restaurant and library are located, consists of a deactivated, accessible, 10.000m² concrete slab near the Seine and the Eiffel Tower.

The object will be protected against the water coming from the basement by a perimetric molded wall of a maximum height of 30 m, embedded at its base in the sands of Bracheux and a layer of plastic clay forming a watertight plug. In Periphery, a clay merlon integrated into the landscape, as well as the peripheral walls provide protection against a centennial flood of the Seine (with a protection of 30cm).
